Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist

Position Overview

The psychiatrist who provides treatment in the outpatient program is responsible for providing evaluations and treatment to children, adolescents and their families. They are responsible for supporting the clinical and administrative operations of the program and report to the director of the outpatient clinic.

The primary focus is in the areas of assessment and pharmacological treatment of children and youth with psychiatric disorders. This includes working with a wide array of disorders with patients from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds

Must be experienced evaluating children under the age of five (5) as well as working with youth on the Autism Spectrum. Previous experience in treatment of trauma preferred.

Education / Experience / Training

  • Valid License as Medical Physician and Surgeon in State of Pennsylvania with at least three years work experience.
  • Residency in General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Clinical Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Board Certified in General Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry.

Behavioral Specialist Consultant (BSC)

Position Overview

The Behavioral Specialist Consultant (BSC) is a master's level clinician who assesses the clinical and behavioral needs of the child. The BSC, in conjunction with the family, develops an individualized treatment plan for the child and monitors the implementation and effectiveness of that plan.

Education / Experience / Training

  • Master's level mental health professional with documented training and experience in the field of behavior modification techniques.
  • Two (2) years verified post-Master's experience providing mental health treatment to children, and at least one (1) year experience using behavior analysis/modification techniques.
  • Valid Child Abuse (Act 33), Criminal History (Act 34), and FBI (Act 73) clearances.
  • Meet all mandatory in-service training, education, and supervision requirements as set forth by managed care entities.

Milieu Counselor

Position Overview

The Milieu Counselor provides direct strength-based residential care to children (age 5 to 14) and families with co-occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency disorders. The Milieu Counselor, in providing direct care to both the child and family works at the Warwick House and periodically makes home visits with the family. The Milieu Counselor ensures the safety and well being of the child and family in both settings, as well as supports the maintenance of a therapeutic milieu. The shared vision of all MCC Warwick House staff is to establish a learning environment that is committed to finding the most effective treatment for residents and families, and all constituents involved in the course of treatment.

Education / Experience / Training

  • High school graduate, or GED equivalent, bachelor's degree in a related field and/or 3 years experience in the mental health field with children preferred.
  • Volunteer experience or relevant college level internships will be considered in lieu of actual paid work experience.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license in good standing.

Mobile Therapist (MT)

Position Overview

The Mobile Therapist (MT) will provide intensive therapeutic services to the child and family in the home, school or community. The MT consults with the client, parent(s), guardian and/or sibling to address emotional issues. Where appropriate individual and family therapy will be provided.

Education / Experience / Training

  • Master's degree prepared in mental health, social work counseling or other Human Services. Professional license preferred.
  • At least one (1) year verified post-Master's experience providing psychotherapy/counseling to children/adolescents.
  • Valid Child Abuse (Act 33), Criminal History (Act 34), and FBI (Act 73) clearances.

Outpatient Therapist

Position Overview

The outpatient therapist's primary function is to stabilize the child's behavior and to provide ongoing therapy to the child and family.

Education / Experience / Training

  • Ph.D. or master's level mental health professional. Professional license preferred.

Registered Nurse

Position Overview

To deliver quality general and psychiatric nursing care to children, typically 5-14 years old age who are dual diagnosed and placed in residential treatment.

  • Current Registered Nurse License in PA.
  • Demonstrate sound leadership skills and the ability to utilize these skills in providing medical and/or non-medical tasks.

Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS)

Position Overview

The Therapeutic Support Staff (TSS) implements the behavioral support plan as formulated by the BSC. The TSS works with the child in the home, school, and/or community settings in an effort to model more effective behavior management techniques with the child while simultaneously assisting the child to access improved behavioral, conduct and emotional challenges. The TSS collects data during each client interaction and submits this data to the BSC for analysis. This data is interpreted by the BSC to measure client progress and, when needed, modify the treatment plan.

Education / Experience / Training

  • Bachelor's degree in the Mental Health Field, Education, Criminal Justice, or other Human Service field. "Other" Bachelor's degrees require one (1) year verified full-time paid experience working in direct care with children/adolescents. Full-time work with children/adolescents means: MH, MR, early intervention, children & youth, juvenile justice system, education, drug & alcohol, daycare or health systems. - OR -
  • Associates degree or 60 credits toward a bachelor's degree and 3 years verified full-time paid experience working in direct care with children/adolescents.
  • Valid Child Abuse (Act 33), Criminal History (Act 34), and FBI (Act 73) clearances.
  • Meet all mandatory in-service training, education, and supervision requirements as set forth by managed care entities.
